Not really. They'd tell me if I asked.

Don't expect to learn anything useful from it though. All it tells me are what the unmarked rooms and buildings are.

[ She looks at it for a minute. And then sighs, clearly disappointed. ]

So it's just got some extra labels? That's it?

Basically. It was only helpful at the beginning, really, but the more we broke into places...

[ he has learned to live with his dumb map. ]

Were you originally the Copycat, or Dave?

I was the Copycat. We were going to work together to open two doors a week and figure this place out, but...

[ninjay]

[ god. he sighs. ]

He died. Can you go into people's rooms or is it just the other rooms?

[willremember]

I haven't tried to go into anyone else's room. I can only use it once a week and that's a waste.

[ninjay]

That's true. It only really works out if you have an actual reason to want to go into a room, like if you suspect they're hiding someone.

[ or if you want to murder. people thought that the copycat might have gotten into aloy's room, but also. clementine is tiny she could not drag a corpse. ]

Right. I've only been using it to gather information. I don't want to kill anyone.

[ anyway, she goes over to her bed and from a small bundle of papers, pulls out just one to show him. She tucks the rest away and unfolds one of her findings: a map.

It reaches out past Yuggoth. There's a city to the north called Celaeno with a mountain range not far from it and Haddath in the west. There's a large red circle around Haddath with the words "IS THIS WHERE THE SECOND BLESSING REALLY WAITS?" Underneath that red is a blue marker: "No, Jim. You're drunk, go home. It will always reside in YUGGOTH." ]

We're only in North Yuggoth, too. So there's South Yuggoth, Celaeno, and Haddath.

I was hoping your map would give a little more information on those places.

[ninjay]

I'm afraid not. I could try asking Craftly though? Occasionally he can be helpful.

[ it depends on how you approach him a lot of the times, jay has learned. ]

If you can find anything out, it'll be a big help.

I can't tell how far these places are, so I think next week... I'm going to try walking to them. I'll turn back if they're too far - I'm afraid of what happens if we break curfew. But it's worth a shot.

You should be careful. We worry so much about the people here that we forget about the other type of monster.

Right. That's why I don't want to bring anyone with me and get them hurt, too. [ she realizes this isn't the perfect solution, but. oh well. ]

But I have a walkie-talkie set. I can at least keep someone updated while I'm exploring. So if anyone happens, at least... Someone will know.

Nah. Found them in one of the rooms I broke into.

[ it sure would have been nice if he found out who the copycat was earlier in the game, but it's too late for that now. ]

Who are you giving the second one to?

My roommate, Emily.

[ninjay]

That's smart, especially since the two of you are young. People might be more likely to target you.

[willremember]

I'm not that young.

[ninjay]

You're still considered young by most of the people here, Clementine, despite your experiences. You can't get rid of is your age even if it isn't proportionate to what you've seen.

[ she's admitted to killing people openly, but people never point fingers at her as a potential suspect at trials, so. ]

I'll kill anyone who targets Emily.

[ but isn't worried about herself? probably because the constant admitting to killing people. also for the millionth time clementine: things not to say out loud. ]

[ninjay]

Which means you better come back in one piece from your little adventure. It'll be hard to protect her otherwise.

[ yeah he doesn't seem too bothered by that admittance of hers. he's spoken to clem enough times to know this is just her. ]

I think I trust you. [ which is a bit weird to say before asking: ] Did you do it?

[ because people sure were blaming him. ]

I didn't, actually.

[ it truly was a case of wrong place at the wrong time. ]

I just think it's interesting that people were very quick to shove the items on my profile in my face, while ignoring that other people had items that actually mentioned arson. [ percy ]

I didn't think so. [ but she probably would have accepted a 'yes,' just as well. ]

I figure the profiles are totally useless, honestly.

[ninjay]

If we used them right, they could help. Like they gave a pretty good hint about Mira.

[ he frowns. ]

The problem is, we don't use them correctly. You should look at them logically to help narrow down suspects if the potential skill sets listed match up to a murder. Instead, people just use them to cast judgment on others and don't budge from it after.

[willremember]

But it's not that hard for someone to do something outside of their usual skill set. It's too easy to frame someone, like that.

[ninjay]

I know. That's why they should only be used a frame of reference, not as definite proof that someone is guilty.

It would be easier if everyone would just let us arm-wrestle the truth from them.

Or give us puzzles to solve.
